My Story

I am not only a facilitator of the MB-EAT program, I have also benefited immensely and for that reason am happy to bring MB-EAT to the area and share what I have learned.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been since 2006.  I am also a Duke University graduate.  I have spent my career helping people manage stress, anxiety and depression.  But in 2011 my life changed and I was diagnosed with breast cancer and due to treatment, i found myself in menopause, my metabolism changed forever.  I gained weight, ate my stress, and generally had a whole new set of problems.  I tried every diet; went vegan, keto, paleo, grain free, gluten free, counted calories, etc.  I struggled.  I began meditating (or mindfully breathing) in 2016 and i continue to this day, meditating daily and/or participating in a yoga class.  What i found was my stress went way down, my mind cleared, I had more space.  This drew me to the MB-EAT program and i am so glad that I am now a facilitator.  I have lost 10 lbs so far and continue to lose without judgement, without struggle.  This isn't a diet or a therapy, it is a program with a set of mindfulness tools that can change your life forever.
